Then, a small incision is made intraorally just near the upper molar teeth. The optimal amount of buccal fat is then carefully removed to restore facial harmony. Swelling and bruising post-treatment are common. It generally takes about seven to ten days for the tissues inside the mouth to recover following buccal fat pad removal.
