3 Important Questions to Ask Before a Buccal Fat Removal

During buccal fat removal procedure, the buccal fat pads in your cheeks are surgically removed. This thins the cheeks and defines facial angles. Here are three important questions to ask your aesthetic coordinators and doctors before you book your surgical treatment:

1.) Are Your Board Certified and by Which Organization?

The first question you should ask when consulting with a plastic surgeon before any cosmetic surgery procedure is, very specifically, “Are you Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery?”

There are many doctors who are Board certified in other specialties, or who are certified in cosmetic surgery by boards that are not accredited by the American Board of Medical Specialties. They take advantage of patients lack of knowledge in this area to appear like they are Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, but in fact they are not plastic surgeons.

2.) Who is a good candidate ?

Anyone bothered by the appearance of your chubby cheeks or you feel they resemble similarity to a chipmunk cheek is a good candidate. Patient needs to have a realistic goal to thin the cheeks appearance specifically in the area of the checks hollows without any pre-existing medical conditions.
