AbFix: Venus

Absolute contraindications for Venus treatment include the presence of a pacemaker or defibrillator. If you have a pacemaker or defibrillator you are not a candidate for Venus. To maximize hydration and avoid dehydration, avoid strenuous exercise, sweating, hot baths, saunas and steam rooms for 2 days prior to treatment. All metal containing objects, including all jewelry and clothing such as belts, must be removed. All other radiofrequency devices, including iPods, iPads, and cell phones must be turned off prior to treatment. Area to be treated must be clean, and free of any lotion, products, and sunscreen. If there is coarse hair in the treatment area (beards, legs, etc.), this hair must be clean-shaven prior to treatment. Accutane and any other medication that thins the skin should be discontinued for a period of at least 6 months prior to receiving treatment and should not be used during your course of treatment. Notify the provider of any tattoos, including cosmetic tattooing, in the vicinity of the area to be treated as tattoos must be avoided.

We recommend that you stay well-hydrated by drinking two glasses of water immediately after each treatment. To ensure continued hydration following the treatment, for the next 3 days, drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. For 3 days post-treatment, avoid alcohol consumption and avoid activities that induce excessive sweating such as strenuous exercise, hot baths, steam rooms and saunas.
