When will I see results from my SkinFix: SkinPen (Microneedling)?
Some may leave BeautyFix with a feeling of healthier looking skin, however, the natural repair process of your own skin continues to progress over the course of several weeks!
How long does the SkinPen procedure take?
The procedure takes 45-60 minutes depending on the size of the area treated and the severity of damage on the skin.
What is the downtime?
SkinPen (microneedling) can be used on all skin types at any time of the year for most patients, and has minimal downtime. On average, patients are pink for 2-3 days. Some patients heal completely in 24 hours.
This treatment involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny sterile needles upto 2 mm to stimulate collagen production.
It isn’t simply the action of needles, which promote skin healing and collagen production, that addresses melasma. Microneedling also enhances the transdermal delivery of topicals to treat melasma.
The SkinPen is very versatile and can be used on all parts of the body, face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back; which makes it especially helpful with addressing acne scars on the back and stretch marks on the body.

PRE TREATMENT CARE
Avoid Accutane in the 6 months prior to beginning your treatment sessions. Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment. Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your microneedling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation. Avoid IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburn for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure. No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior. Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there’s dense hair present in the treatment area, shave the day before you arrive for your appointment. If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment. You should also avoid blood thinning agents for 1 week prior as bruising is a common side effect of microneedling.

POST TREATMENT CARE
After treatment, do not take any anti-inflammatory medications for 1 week.
Do not use ice on your face, and avoid using Arnica/Bromelain. Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks.
After 24 hours, always use SPF 30 or higher.
Tylenol can be taken for soreness.

I had a great experience with Lina for microneedling. Though i will say it was pretty painful, it was worth it. Most people recover from this within 3-5 days but my skin is EXTRA sensitive and light, so if you have skin like mine, give it about 1 week of downtime. My skin feels much tighter and extra glowy!
