What is the recovery time?
Upper blepharoplasty is generally a relatively quick and straightforward procedure, and most patients experience a relatively short recovery period compared to more invasive cosmetic surgeries. The recovery time is 7 days for upper eyes. Recovery times vary. Most patients fully recover in 1 month, however, recovery can take longer.
Why get an eyelid surgery?
In some cases, upper eyelid sagging can be severe enough to obstruct one's vision. Upper blepharoplasty can help improve peripheral vision and alleviate functional problems related to eyelid drooping. It can reduce sagging or excess skin on the upper eyelids, which can make a person appear older or tired.

Eyelid surgery will only fix peripheral vision that is blocked by droopy eyelids. This surgery will not correct any medical conditions.

PRE TREATMENT CARE
To minimize bruising and ensure the best results, please avoid certain medications and supplements at least 3–7 days prior to your appointment.
Avoid The Following:
- Aspirin / Baby Aspirin
- Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Aleve)
- Fish Oil (Omega-3)
- Vitamin E
- St. John’s Wort
- Ginger, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng
Important:
If you are on prescribed blood thinners, do not stop them without your physician’s approval.

POST TREATMENT CARE
Proper aftercare is essential for optimal results and smooth recovery.
Immediately After:
- Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area
- Do not engage in strenuous exercise or heat exposure
- Mild redness and swelling are normal
Sun Protection:
- Use SPF 30+ sunscreen daily
- Avoid direct sun exposure and heat until swelling subsides
- Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when outdoors
Managing Swelling & Recovery:
- Swelling may occur, especially the next morning, and typically lasts 2–3 days
- Apply cold compresses for 10 minutes every hour
- Sleep with your head elevated on the first night
- Avoid sleeping on your stomach
Note:
Lip treatments may experience swelling for up to a week before settling into final results.
